2025 Winners & All Teams

Congratulations 2025 Winners!

2025 Competitors

The Rib Ticklers

A family founded team that went from patron to participant. With a passion for barbecue and a collective drive to better the community, the Rib Ticklers are an MCRCO award-winning team; their success only furthering their love of the event and competition.

Ribtide

MCRCO is thrilled to welcome “RIBTIDE” a new competitor in 2024. The team is a group of ambitious men who are novices at ribs and surfing, but are willing to give both a try…in Marshfield?!

Smokey and The Brisket

Meet Smokey and The Brisket—first-time contenders at the MCRCO Rib Cook-Off, proudly representing the Marshfield Police Relief Association. These local heroes are trading in their badges for basting brushes, bringing serious flavor with a side of civic pride. Their motto? “Protecting and serving… amazing ribs.” Don’t be fooled by the sirens—you’ll want to pull over for a taste.

South Shore Smoke Show

The South Shore Smoke Show competed for the first time in 2016 and has been a crowd favorite at the Marshfield Community Rib Cook-off every year since. The team has grown throughout the years and is made up of backyard BBQ buddies who have combined their talents to produce an incredible proprietary pork rib recipe and smoking method that continues to have crowds coming back for more year after year.

Smokey Stax

MCRCO welcomes back Smokey Stax BBQ. No stranger to the BBQ scene, this mom-and-pop family team has been delighting the South Shore area and beyond with their mouth-watering smoked meats and traditional BBQ sides since 2011. Join us in welcoming Smokey Stax BBQ as they return to the MCRCO competition this year with their renowned flavors and BBQ expertise!

JDQ BBQ

We are a family team based in Melrose, MA that just loves to spend time together putting ourselves through a long day of intense stress in order to cook real, smoked BBQ. Seeing the smiles on the faces of the people we have the pleasure of serving while making an impact in the community makes it all worth while. We only do one competition per year, and it’s the MCRCO. 2026 will be our sixth year competing and we hope to walk the stage again as a repeat of our 2024 first place win.

Hottsmoke

Risen from pandemic, this Quincy-based home-brew crew discovered they were better at BBQ than brewing. Hottsmoke returns this year to MCRCO!

A Simple Pig

Like most who compete at MCRCO – it all started (for returning Marshfield Rib Cook-off 2nd (’21 & ’23) and 3rd (’25) place winners “A Simple Pig”), when friends and family told them “this is the best BBQ I have ever had” and from there they were hooked!

Backyard Smokin’ BBQ

After discovering our love of BBQ, we’ve studied and tested many versions of American barbecue. Backyard Smokin’ BBQ believes there is nothing better than your average dude smoking meats from his own backyard. We’re here to showcase our dry rub ribs that are so juicy and tender, you won’t even need our own home made sauce.

Meat Bros’ BBQ

The Meat Bros will be firing up OG Texas BBQ flavors – heavy on salt and pepper but you’ll still get some hints of mustard. The Meat Bros’ team brings passion for BBQ and their years in culinary school and the restaurant industry.

Wood & Steel BBQ

Wood & Steel Barbecue started in 2012 with three friends with a passion for backyard barbecue. In 2014 we entered our first competition at the Marshfield Community Rib Cook Off as “Smokin’ Pigs” In 2016 we decided to give it a go and enter a KCBS contest. Unfortunately, the name Smokin’ Pigs was taken, so Wood & Steel was born. We have won various awards since, but are still in search of our first elusive MCRCO championship!

Saints BBQ

A Saint’s BBQ rib aims to focus more on the rub, and is not as saucy or wet as some other ribs. It combines a homemade savory rub with a thin coating of a sweet glaze that keeps the rib moist, but does not overpower the rub.

Based in Brockton and Marshfield, our team has been a fierce competitor in the BBQ scene since 2019. We’re known for starting our cook early—nobody is up before us! Our competitive spirit is unmatched, and our dedication to excellence is evident in our accolades. We were honored with the 2020 People’s Choice Award and clinched First Place for Ribs in 2023. At Morning Wood BBQ, we bring passion, precision, and unbeatable flavor to every competition.

Penny Rose BBQ

First Rib-Sponders

The Marshfield Community Rib Cook-off is thrilled to welcome back “First Rib-Sponders” representing the Marshfield Fire Department.
